My eczema story
“Eczema is not just a skin condition. It’s an internal condition. I know, because I have suffered from it myself.”
Before I became a naturopath, I was covered head to toe in eczema. It grew so severe I had to resign from my job, and was bed-ridden for nearly five months — living on steroids and antibiotics, in constant pain from dry, weeping, itchy skin. It can only be described as agonising, torturous and hopeless.
When the steroids stopped and every medical avenue was exhausted, a naturopath took me through a consultation that changed everything. A year and a half later, through nutritional, dietary and lifestyle support, my skin had settled. That experience became my lifelong passion for natural medicine.
Today I’m the founder and director of Waterwell — a holistic skin clinic on a mission to care for people going through the same hardship I did, or to help others avoid it altogether.
